  "I was in a concentration camp in Germany," I reply.

  "What is it?" I ask.

  "I am just thinking about something from my past, Herman," Roma explains in a voice suddenly very soft. "You see, when I was a young girl, I lived near a concentration camp. There was a boy there, a prisoner, and for a long while, I used to visit him every day. I remember I used to bring him apples. I would throw the apple over the fence, and he would be so happy."

  Roma sighs heavily and continues. "It is hard to describe how we felt about each other-after all, we were young, and we only exchanged a few words when we could-but I can tell you, there was much love there. I assume he was killed like so many others. But I cannot bear to think that, and so I try to remember him as he was for those months we were given together."

  With my heart pounding so loudly I think it wil1 explode, I look directly at Roma and ask, "And did that boy say to you one day, ‘Do not bring me an apple tomorrow. I am being sent to another camp‘?"

  "Why, yes," Roma responds, her voice trembling.

  For many moments, there is only silence. We cannot take our eyes from each other, and as the veils of time lift, we recognize the soul behind the eyes, the dear friend we once loved so much, whom we have never stopped loving, whom we have never stopped remembering.

  Finally, I speak: "Look, Roma, I was separated from you once, and I don‘t ever want to be separated from you again. Now, I am free, and I want to be together with you forever. Dear, will you marry me?"

  I see that same twinkle in her eye that I used to see as Roma says, "Yes, I will marry you," and we embrace, the embrace we longed to share for so many months, but barbed wire came between us. Now, nothing ever will again.

  Almost forty years have passed since that day when I found my Roma again. Destiny brought us together the first time during the war to show me a promise of hope and now it had reunited us to fulfill that promise.

  Valentine‘s Day, 1996. I bring Roma to the Oprah Winfrey Show to honor her on national television. I want to tell her in front of millions of people what I feel in my heart every day:

  "Darling, you fed me in the concentration camp when I was hungry. And I am still hungry, for something I will never get enough of: I am only hungry for your love."

  Wuthering Heights (1847) - the story is narrated by Lockwood, a gentleman visiting the Yorkshire moors where the novel is set, and of Mrs Dean, housekeeper to the Earnshaw family, who had been witness of the interlocked destinies of the original owners of the Heights. In a series of flashbacks and time shifts.

  Based on the classic text of Emily Bronte, this incarnation of Wuthering Heights sets up the all-engulfing tragedy beautifully. Since its setting, the windswept Yorkshire moors, is a desolate place at the height of summer, having to fight your way through the teeth of a snowstorm is not for the faint of heart. This is the mistake made by Lockwood (Miles Mander), a temporary resident. Seeking shelter from the blizzard he staggers through the door of Wuthering Heights, finding the atmosphere within just as icy. The master of the house, Heathcliff (Laurence Olivier), reluctantly provides a bed but seems ill at ease with his visitor. There's a sad tale behind his indifference, one which the elderly housekeeper Nelly Dean (Flora Robson) is happy to share.

  Forty years ago Wuthering Heights was filled with light, warmth and happiness. Mr.Earnshaw (Cecil Kellaway), a congenial gentleman farmer, lives happily with his boisterous children Cathy (Sarita Wooten) and Hindley (Douglas Scott). However, being a kind and generous fellow, he can't help rescuing a poor starving wretch off of the streets of Liverpool, a gypsy child named Heathcliff (Rex Downing). In time Heathcliff becomes one of the family, loved by all except Hindley (who nurtures the feeling of being usurped). Cathy is an especially good childhood friend, spending many a carefree day playing on the moor with Heathcliff. Unfortunately when Mr.Earnshaw dies suddenly, Hindley is able to express his enmity with damning cruelty. Heathcliff is condemned to the stable, a position doubly harsh given his former familial state.

  As the years pass a single reason keeps, the now adult, Heathcliff from leaving and seeking his fortune - Cathy (Merle Oberon). Despite all that oppresses them (Hindley's (Hugh Williams) rages and their positions), there is a love between them that refuses to die. Cathy has wild, gypsy blood in her and that side of her personality loves to run through the heather with her prince, Heathcliff. Here they can be children again, far from the misery which courses through Wuthering Heights. However, the more civilised half of Cathy desires fine dresses and a respectable station in society, all things which Edgar Linton (David Niven) can provide. Such a collision of love and desire is ripe territory for the seeds of tragedy.

  An epic tale of wild, romantic passion, set amongst the heather and wind-swept gulleys, Wuthering Heights is stirring stuff. Presenting a vision of undying love, its genesis in the innocence of youth and resolution in the chill of death, the entire spectrum of emotions is played expertly by Bronte. Such a tale calls for a top-notch cast, players who can emote the sheer stubbornness which makes Cathy and Heathcliff destroy each other while remaining deeply in love. So staggering is Heathcliff's pain that he's willing to use Cathy's sister-in-law Isabella Linton (Geraldine Fitzgerald) as a weapon, caring nothing for the poor lass. It's a measure of Cathy's stoicism that she refuses to budge even under these conditions, pretending that she actually loves Edgar.

  教师职业从经验化、随意化到专业化,经历了一个发展的过程。20世纪60年代中期,许多国家对教师的“量”的急需逐渐被提高教师“质”的需求所代替,对教师素质的关注达到了前所未有的程度。80年代以来,教师专业化则形成了世界性的潮流。要求高质量的教师不仅是有知识、有学问的人,而且是有首先、有理想、有专业追求的人;不仅是高起点的人,而且是终身学习、不断自我更新的人;不仅是学科的专家,而且是教育的专家,具有像医生、律师一样的专业不可替代性。1994年我国开始实施的《教师法》规定:教师是履行教育教学职责的专业人员“,第一次从法律角度确认了教师的专业地位。为推进教师专业化提供了基本的制度保证。XX年4月1日起,国家首次开展全面实施教师资格认定工作标志着教师专业进入实际操作阶段。正正确理解教师专业化,把握教师专业化的内涵,明确教师专业化的途径,对于向专业化迈进是十分必要的。

  一、对教师专业化的理解

  教师专业化的基本含义是:

  1、教师专业既包括学科专业性,也包括教育专业性,国家对教师任职既有规定的学历标准,也有必要的教育知识、教育能力和职业道德的要求。

  2、国家有教师教育的专门机构、专门教育内容和措施;

  3、国家有对教师资格和教师教育机构的认定制度和管理制度。

  4、教师专业发展是一个持续不断的过程,教师专业化也是一个发展的概念,既是一种状态,又是一个不断深化的过程。

  二、英语教师专业化的内涵

  (一)英语教师专业化必备的知识结构

  专业化所必备的知识包括:学科知识(英语基础知识、语音知识、词汇知识、功能意念知识、话题知识、语言学习理论);

  条件知识,包括教学理论知识(心理学、教育学、教学法)和教学实践知识(指导学生学习语言的策略和技巧、任务型语言教学法等各种强调学习过程的语言教学方法、语言学习评价理论);

  相关知识:学科交叉性知识(世界知识、文化知识、学科交叉的边缘性知识)

  前沿知识:最新发现知识(现代科技知识、社会人文知识、语言发展知识)

  (二)英语教师专业化所必备的技能结构:

  英语语言技能(听说读写)

  教学技能:用教村教的技能、教学设计技能选择教学策略的技能、构建模式的技能、应用教学技能的技巧;

  教学实施技能:课堂教学的调控和组织的技能;教学实施技能和课堂教学管理的技能;使用教学手段的技能(常规教学手段和现代教学手段)

  教学评价技能:教学反思的技能、教学评价技能安全提炼的技能;经验总结的技能

  阅读《英语阅读教学》第二章“阅读教学目标”让我明白阅读目标不只是知识的学习、技能的培养,更应该包括阅读习惯的养成、自主学习能力的发展以及情感态度、文化素养等综合素质的培养。阅读教学目标应体现多元性、过程性和持续性。阅读本章的感受就是:准确定位阅读目标,提高阅读教学效率。

  一、阅读教学目标的内涵

  阅读教学涉及两个方面,一是学习阅读(learn to read),二是阅读学习(read to learn)。阅读教学的目标应该包括五个方面:阅读教学的技能目标、阅读教学的知识学习目标、阅读教学的图式建构目标、阅读教学的自主学习目标、阅读教学综合素养目标。

  以前谈到教学目标时一般都是三维的,即知识目标、能力目标、情感目标,阅读《英语阅读教学》知晓,从三维的角度去定位阅读教学目标是不全面的。“高中阶段的阅读目标不仅包含理解大意、理解作者的观点态度、根据上下文线索进行推理判断,理解不同文体的文本,……同时还必须能够阅读一般的英文杂志、报纸等。培养学生的自主学习能力应该成为高中阶段阅读教学的主要目标之一,必须把策略教学纳入阅读教学,帮助学生养成良好的阅读习惯”(P37)。

  二、阅读教学目标的认知层次

  根据布卢姆的教育目标分类,阅读教学目标的认知层次可以分为以下七个方面:

  1. 知识层次目标;

  2. 领会层次目标;

  3. 运用层次目标;

  4. 分析层次目标;

  5. 综合层次目标;

  6. 评价层次目标;

  7. 元认知层次目标。

  三、阅读目标的设计方法

  1. 教材本位法

  课堂教学目标的设计必须建立在对教材中阅读材料进行分析的基础上,要求首先阅读教材和教材中的教学活动,分析教材中教学活动的类属和认知层次,然后根据认知的要求将目标具体化。

  2. 学生本位法

  学生本位指课堂教学目标设计必须考虑学生的实际,它包括阅读材料对学生语言基础的要求和阅读目标对学生认知能力的要求。

  3. 话题本位法

  不同的话题内容表现形式不同,理解目标也就不同。如有的话题包含不同民族的文化,因此可以设计跨文化交际目标,但很多话题没有必要设计文化或者情感态度的目标。

  4. 层次化目标法

  设计阅读目标时一定要注意目标的层次性。广大教师一定要注意教学目标的层次化,设计多层次目标,而不是单一层次的目标。很多学生做了大量的阅读练习,尤其是备考练习,但其阅读能力仍旧不高,原因与只做选择填空练习、没有语言输出活动有关。

  四、阅读目标的阶段性

  阅读教学目标很多,课堂的最终目标是运用,但是运用必须建立在知识和领会的基础上。知识目标是基础的目标,领会目标居中,最后才是阅读的运用目标。因此,在设计阅读目标时要关注目标的阶段性,“一般说来,领会在前,运用在后;识别在前,表达在后。”

  读了《英语教学活动设计与应用》一书,很有感触,受益匪浅。

  该书包含36个chapter,涉及语法,天文,节日,科技,故事传奇等等。用大量的语言实践活动,向读者展示了有效的开展课堂教学活动的方法,尤其是如何活跃课堂气氛以及激发学生学习的强烈愿望。使我大开眼界。每个chapter由目标(Aims)、活动(Activities)、习得(Acquisition)三个环节组成,这三个环节互为补充,保证一切教学设计的完整,既突出语言活动设计,又兼顾了教学的语法。形式多样,内容丰富,使学生赶兴趣。有儿歌,对抗赛,采访,辩论及调查等。同时,展示给每个教师的用语,使老师可根据自己本班需要进行操作,更有利于教师进入教学工作。

  教学活动的延伸不仅限于课堂教学,而更要包含课堂之外的学习和生活。所以每章拓展活动(Development Activities)就提供这方面的实践。如果我们能充分利用这部分内容,使学生在课堂内外都有活动可参与,将使得学生的学习变得生动有趣,而不是枯糙乏味,完全符合语言教学的规律。语言学习需要大量的练习,而不是仅仅做题,在我有限的教学生涯中,我会经常借鉴这本书,从中汲取更好的方法,搞好教学。

  读了这本书,对本人以后的教学,能够起到非常好的指导作用。使我能够更好地创设各种情景,鼓励学生大胆地使用英语,对他们在学习过程中的失误和错误采取宽容的态度。为学生提供自主学习和直接交流的机会,以及充分表现和自我发展的一个空间。

  作为老师应努力使自己全身心融入于教材、融于课堂、融于良好师生关系的和谐气氛之中,以真情教书、以真情待生、以真情赢得学生的信赖,尊重每个学生,把英语教学与课堂活动有机地结合起来,创造各种合作学习的活动,促进学生互相学习,互相帮助,体验成就感,发展合作精神。关注学习有困难的或性格内向的学生学习,尽可能地为他们创造语言的机会。

  加强对学生学习策略的指导,让他们在学习和适用的过程中逐步学会如何学习,这也是很重要的。引发学生的创造性思维。 “学源于思,思源于疑”,学生探索知识的思维过程总是从问问题开始,又在解决问题中得到发展。活动过程中学生在教师创设的情境下,自己动脑思考,动口表达,在解决问题的过程中,如果学生的情感、动机能够得到充分调动,他们的聪明才智就能充分发挥。只有让学生亲自参与了提出问题和解决问题的过程,他们才能真正成为学习的主人。

  总之,课堂管理是一门复杂、烦琐的艺术,作为教师,我应该不停地探索下去,使自己的教学水平能够更加得以提高。

  在《我的教学生涯》一书的扉页上,诗人臧克家为斯霞题诗一首:一个和孩子常年在一起的人,她的心灵永远活泼像清泉。 一个热情培育小苗的人,她会欣赏它生长风烟。一个忘我劳动的人,她的形象在别人的记忆中活鲜。一个用心温暖别人的人,她自己的心也必然感到温暖。 这是斯霞老师忠诚党的教育事业,是她童心母爱的真实写照。

  斯霞老师从事教学72载,包括解放前20多年和建国后各个历史时期,她所走过的是一条很不平坦的道路。在旧社会里被人嘲笑、瞧不起,受尽贫苦的折磨,在新中国成立后又曾被打压和评判,但即使是在这样的逆境中她都不悔做一名小学老师。有人说过:信念是人生征途中的一颗明珠,既能在阳光熠熠发亮,也能可以在黑夜里闪闪发光。那么,究竟是怎样的信念在支撑着她的行为,又是什么让她身处逆境却对教育事业义无反顾?在书中我找到准确的答案:关于信念,斯霞自己也是说过的。当我在党的教育下,逐步树立了一切为着孩子的成长,一切为着祖国的未来这样的信念时,我感到我是幸福的。有了对所从事的工作执着的热爱,再平凡的岗位也可以做出不平凡的贡献。正像苏霍姆林斯基曾经说过的:信念只有在积极的行动之中才能够生存,才能够得到加强和磨炼。斯霞老师正是如此,她没有让自己的信念成为花瓶,而是用她的实际行动丰富了她的信念,让它看起来是有血有肉的。她用她的`信念和行为诠释了爱岗敬业的真正含义。

  对于一名教师来说什么是爱岗敬业呢,在《中小学教师职业道德规范》中第二条是这样说明的热爱教育、热爱学校,尽职尽责、教书育人,注意培养学生具有良好的思想品德。认真备课上课,认真批改作业,不敷衍塞责,不传播有害学生身心健康的思想。它是一个标准更像是一个方向标。这让我想起了一则故事:有人问三个砌砖的工人:你们在做什么呢?第一个工人没好气地嘀咕:你没看见吗,我正在砌墙啊。 第二个工人有气无力地说:嗨,我正在做一项每小时9美元的工作呢。第三个工人哼着小调,欢快地说:你问我啊朋友,我不妨坦白告诉你,我正在建造这世界上最伟大的教堂!这也许就是问题的症结。有些人,不知道尊重自己的工作。他们把工作视作取得面包、衣服、房子的一种讨厌的需要,一种无可避免的苦役。而在一个人将他的工作视为苦役与痛苦时,他是决不能在工作上竭尽所能的。爱眼下的工作吧,选择了做教师,就努力做一名像斯霞一样的人民教师。也许不能像她那样成功,但只要我们努力了就不愧教师这个称谓了。

  在英语教学过程中普遍存在着学生规规矩矩地坐着,面无表情地看着,单调的带读与重复着,唯唯诺诺地举手的局面。老师与学生之间大都是灌输,而缺少交流,这样教师教得很辛苦,学生也学得很辛苦,但实际效果并不理想,很多学生对英语知识的掌握和运用十分有限。从中得出,我们在教学中很多是无效的或低效的教学行为。这种状况对小学生学习英语极为不利。作为一名小学英语老师,我们怎样改变这种沉闷的局面,使英语教学变得更加有效呢?我在课余时间认真学习了《小学英语教学的有效性研究》一书,有很大收获。

  首先我知道了有效教学的含义:有效的教学是用最小的人力、物力和时间达到预期的教学目标。也就是要消耗少,收效高。所谓的“收效”是指经过教师一段时间的教学后,学生所获得的具体的进步或发展。

  其次这本书中讲到的提高有效教学的途径,对我今后的教学有很大帮助。

  1、激发学生英语学习兴趣。

  鲁迅先生说过:没有兴趣的学习无异于一种苦役。没有兴趣的地方,就没有智慧和灵感。兴趣是最好的教师,是最基础的学习动力的源泉。因此教刚接触英语的儿童时,首先要培养他们的兴趣,以各种游戏和其他生动活泼的方式让他们在兴趣盎然的活动中学习英语。

  教学中要把握“玩中有学,学中有玩”的原则,依据不同的教学内容为孩子们设计不同的游戏、活动、任务等,使孩子们在不知不觉

  的过程中轻轻松松学会了语言。

  2、在课堂中采用创设情景的教学方式。

  通过创设情景,能使学生仿如身临其境,触景生情,较快进入英语角色,并乐意参与语言的各种实践。在实践中加深理解,熟悉运用和牢固掌握所学过的知识,达到了缓解知识点掌握的难度,让学生感觉到易学而不怕学、甚至中意学的效果。实践也证明,“情景教学法”能给教师的“教”与学生的“学”带来良好的效应。它从根本上提高了英语教学效果。最大程度地培养了学生的英语学习兴趣,能够让教师教得舒心,学生学得轻松。

  3、培养学生的听、说能力。

  人们在学习语言时大致上要经过如下几个过程,即听音、辩音、观察、模仿、练习、运用。从婴幼儿的语言习得过程来对照外语学习的阶段,最先掌握的是听,听懂领会理解他人的语言;其次是说的能力,在听懂领会理解他人的语言的基础上表达自己的感受、看法和想法。

  (1)听的能力的培养。在教学中,播放某一语句或某一词汇让学生仔细听,其目的是让学生集体或个别模仿,重在训练准确、地道的语音和语调;在教学会话时,教师要全身心地进入角色,如有可能,尽量现身说法使学生仿佛置身于实际情景中,从而使学生听懂理解会话语句的含义;在英语学习启蒙阶段,学生不易听懂教师的课堂用语,这时,教师可以用“TPR ”(Total Physical Response)来帮助学生:如在说到“Stand up ”(起立)“Sit down ”(坐下)时,可以用手语或肢

  体语言来表示(手语向上是起立,手语向下是坐下);又如在学生回答完一个问题或做完一个操练,教师可边说“Good ”边伸出大拇指,如果特别好的说“Wonderful ”,用两只大拇指边说边做,使学生理解、听懂含义;不但要让学生多听教师的语言,更重要的是还要用心倾听他人的发言。课堂教学过程是学生英语交际的主要场合,在这当中有很多听的机会,低年级的学生有意注意较弱,控制时间较短,在听较为单调的词汇、句型时容易走神,因此,在个别学生发言时,教师必须做出明确要求即认真倾听同学发言,找发音错误并纠正。

  (2)说的能力的培养。说英语对于低年级小学生而言有一定的难度。因此在尝试着说英语的时候,要遵循低年级小学生的认知规律,循序渐进,不能任意拔高,增加学生说的恐惧感。模仿说是说的起点,教师应重视学生的模仿说。通过大量的模仿说,使学生的舌头不再僵硬,语音准确,语调不再别扭。这是降低说话难度方法之一,也是说的能力中最为低层次的能力,因为它只停留在单纯的模读、模说、机械重复,机械识记的阶段,并没有完全进入交际语言的程度。在教学中我发现许多孩子能把教材中的词汇、句子、儿歌甚至是短文一字不漏的读或是背下来,但是一旦进入真正的交流状态,便显得不知所措,无言以对,这样的孩子不是真正会“说”英语的孩子,因此教师要利用课内外的一切机会,尽量用英语与孩子交流,引导他们用学过的语言表达自己的思想或是交流信息。从简单的问候“Hello!Good morning!到复杂的“What colour do you like?What’s your favourite food?”引导学生用英语思维,用学到的语言表达自己的思想情感,成为真正会

  “说”英语的人。

  4、创设英语氛围,让英语常驻教室。

  有资料表明,人在学习语言时,其视听信息的输入能达到20%。但是,低年级学生英语词汇量较少,用英语交流有一定困难,加上有限的课时及条件,使学生缺乏英语交流的环境。学生在学校活动的主要场所是教室,他们一抬头所见的就是教室的四壁,如果能把教室布置成一个小小的英语世界,学生一进教室,所见的全是英语信息,天长日久,这些英语信息会在无意中进入学生的大脑,为他们将来的英语语言输出做出一些积累。

  总之,有效课堂作为一种理念,更是一种价值追求,一种教学实践模式。在今后的课堂教学中,我会更加深入地学习、实践“有效课堂教学”,努力使我的每一位学生都能获得应有的发展。
